We’re excited to share that Verdi has raised $6.5M CAD ($4.7M USD) in an oversubscribed seed round to accelerate our mission: making irrigation automation accessible to every farm on the planet.
This round brings our total funding to $9.5M CAD, led by SVG Ventures with participation from NEC X, Ponderosa Ventures (part of Galvanize Climate Solutions), Elemental, GenomeBC, One Small Planet, Waterpoint Lane, Dangerous Ventures, VentureUs, Echo River Capital, Cyan Ventures, Jetstream, and Baker Hall Capital. We're grateful to be backed by such a committed and climate-focused group of partners.
Why this matters
Most farms still rely on manual irrigation systems. That means countless hours spent walking fields, opening and closing valves, chasing leaks, and more — all while labor gets tighter and water becomes more precious.
Verdi changes that by retrofitting intelligence onto existing farm infrastructure. No need for expensive rip-and-replace rollouts. In 2024 alone, Verdi helped customers save over $1M in irrigation labor costs and more than 100 million liters of water.
Designed for the real world
Our technology works with the infrastructure farms already use. That means fast deployment and immediate impact — from remote leak detection to row-level control. Growers have reported up to 90% labor savings, 70% water savings, and 20% yield improvements.
This practical approach is why Verdi is now trusted by some of the largest food and beverage producers in North America, powering automation on more than 5,000 acres and growing fast.
What’s next
With this funding, we’re expanding into new regions, growing our team, and continuing to build smarter tools powered by AI. We’re also deepening partnerships with major agribusinesses to help scale automation where it matters most — on the farm.
Thank you to our growers, partners, and investors for helping us reach this milestone. We’re just getting started.
